If endotoxins are present, a visible gel clot forms, indicating a positive result. This method is cost-effective and does not require specialized equipment, making it ideal for small laboratories.

However, the Gel Clot assay has limitations. It provides only a pass/fail result at a predefined sensitivity level, and it lacks the precision of quantitative methods like chromogenic or turbidimetric assays.
